Alrighty so vision boards are super cool because they give you a VISUAL reminder every single day to shoot high and make your life what you want it to be.
Why is visualizing success important? Because it creates ATTRACTION. The law of attraction says “like attracts like”. In other words, our thoughts and actions bring about the positive or negative aspects of our lives. If we think more positively, visualize success, and see ourselves happy, we are much more likely to attract these things into our lives. The same goes for negativity and failure. Visualizing success through a vision board is a great way to attract your success because you have a visual reminder every day helping you stay on track to reach your greatest potential!
Here is an example of a nifty vision board I made for my husband
And lucky you! I am going to tell you how to make it.
OK so first, the crafting. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the craftiest person, but sometimes I just want to make something important and a vision board is definitely handy! All you really need for this super easy project is a cork board, string, nails or push pins, clothes pins, and the OPTIONAL paint, glue gun, and accessories. You may be saying, are you sure this is easy and worth my time?? To which I shall respond… “YES! I did this while playing peek-a-boo with a 3 month old baby and still got it done in 20-ish minutes!”
So here it goes…
STEP 1: OPTIONAL Paint cork board frame to make it look pretty and match your house
OR- buy an already beautifully painted cork board
STEP 2: Stick push pins or nails in a zig-zag fashion down the length of the board
STEP 3: Starting at the top left of your board, wrap the string around the push pin a few times and then tie in a knot. You can leave some string hanging off the end and then just trim it. Then continue to zigzag down the board with your string, wrapping the string around each push pin along the way. You do not have to tie a knot each time you wrap it. A knot is only necessary on the first and last push pins in order to hold the whole pattern in place.
STEP 4: hang the clothespins on the line wherever you want them to go
STEP 5: OPTIONAL: add accessories to the clothespins such as stickers, adhesives, paint, etc. to make it look jazzier and add some personal flair… remember this board is allll about creativity. You want to make it attractive to you so that you will want to look at it more!
STEP 6: NOT OPTIONAL: Add pictures that represent your goals!
STEP 7: Hang the vision board in a prominent place, where you will see it every day, and be able to take a couple minutes to reflect on your goals.
Remember, being happy is all about being intentional with how you think and act, so take the step to make a fun vision board for yourself! You will not regret it.
I’d love to know how this goes for you! Let me know in the comments! See you next post!
